A CELEBRATION OF LIFE

A fantastic celebration of life. Stephen Colbert gave us a blueprint of how to say goodbye. He modeled for all who were watching, a glorious tribute to what he was losing and loving.
'The Late Show' had been cancelled and it was the last night's performance. Stephen gathered his family, friends, fellow creatives and mentors. They joked and laughed, sang and danced and created a final farewell. At the end Stephen and Paul McCartney walked outside and turned off the lights to the Ed Sullivan theatre. The theatre went dark and then got pulled into an interdimensional wormhole.
It all got taken in an instant.
It's gone.
It's over!
But before the end there was the emotional finale. Along with Paul leading the stage of star-studded musicians, they closed out eleven years singing,
"I don't know why you say goodbye
I say hello."
There was exuberant joy that co-existed side by side with excruciating grief. Stephan’s family, friends and over two hundred staff streamed onstage joining in,
"I don't know why you say goodbye
I say hello."
Life in all its preciousness
So fully felt
So precious
......
It can happen.
At some point
The sadness, loss and endless grief give way to the
loss of loss
with love and gratitude still standing.
